Gordon used the balayage technique and color contouring, along with new shades from Wella’s La Beige collection, to customize this wig (from her own line, shirleywigs.com) worn by Robyn Dixon of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac.

A | 1½ parts Wella Koleston Perfect 7/97 + 1½ parts 13-volume developer
B | 1½ parts Freelights White Lightening Powder + 1½ parts 20-volume developer
C | Equal parts Koleston Perfect 10/97 + 9/97 + 6/97
1 Create a shaft shift by applying formula A from roots to ends.
2 Freehand-paint both sides of an elongated U-shape around the face with formula B, leaving a 2-inch panel out on the top of the crown.
3 Freehand-paint the back sections with formula B using single strokes.
4 Apply formula C to the highlights, alternating from light to light to dark.
